Halloween

My all time favorite Halloween memories? When my boys were little and we’d celebrate the season with scary crafts, costume making and so much trick-or-treating. At the time, we were living in NYC. We always started our festivities in Tribeca. I remember one cafe handing out old fashioned donuts, a hair salon pouring wine for the parents and all the children walking through a corner takeout place to trick-or-treat for a chicken drumstick each. Once night fell, it was time to get serious. The kids in our neighborhood would run to each other’s high rise apartments, take the elevators to the top floor and then trick-or-treat floor by floor all the back down before running to the next high rise. It was utter chaos and so much fun.

I will always love Halloween. And sometimes the joy of the season busts out in art form
